A passion for fitness and the desire to see her clients succeed has driven Cat Holman, RKC, NSCA-CPT since she became a personal trainer more than five years ago.
“An exercise program is not just about sets and reps,” says Cat. “It should be about improving quality of life by improving your function through fitness.”
She has taken the individualized approach to personal training, combined it with the diverse demands of group training to develop a specialized system of fitness. The approach, using techniques learned from world-renowned trainers, coaches, and instructors, takes clients through a wide-ranging series of exercises designed to address specific needs in their functional strength and biomechanical function.
Her approach of “tough love” pushes clients past perceived boundaries to make gains they never believed could happen. “There is nothing I enjoy more than seeing a client suddenly do something in the gym that she once thought was impossible,” Holman says.
“You must make the mind/body connection during your workout to get the most out of it,” says Holman. “Every client is more than just a client – personal training is ‘personal’.
“You’ll never see me parade client after client through cookie cutter workouts,” she says. “I limit myself to a manageable number, so I can develop a program best suited for them.
“I am a firm believer in quality over quantity,” she says.
Holman is one of approximately 1,000 certified Russian Kettlebell Challenge (RKC) Instructors worldwide. She is also certified as a personal trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and American Council on Exercise (ACE). She is also an ACE-Certified Group Fitness Instructor, an ACE-AARP trainer, and an active participant in the IDEA Health and Fitness Organization.
Holman is a Crossfit Level II athlete, an active yoga, pilates, and Krav Maga practitioner. Cat enjoys bike riding, running, and playing golf. She has kickboxed both contact and non-contact for more than 10 years.
